Kenny’s BBQ

Kenny’s Smokehouse Market has been a staple of the Capitol Hill community for over 20 years. Residents, visitors, and politicians alike flock here to dine on DC’s finest slow-cooked, dry rubbed BBQ. In 2017, Kenny’s was passed onto new management who pledged to preserve the Kenny’s that the community has treasured, while modernizing operations, interior design and visual branding. The management approached me to re-design the restaurant’s website, online presence, branding collateral (menus, table-tents, business cards, signage) and to photograph the new interior and food offerings. My design sought to avoid the typical BBQ tropes by offering an aesthetic that felt modern & unique while paying homage to the rich history of Kenny’s BBQ.
